Project Breadcrumb

The upper left section of the Tobe Builder interface contains a project breadcrumb, this allows the users to always know what, project, schedule, task and date they are currently viewing.

Project Menu

The icon to the left of the project name can be used to access the project setting, and Project Users menus.

Project Settings Menu

The project settings define the project name, location, grid offsets and also where uses can setup custom GIS with an alternative basemap with project specific coordinates reference systems (CRS).

Like all ArcGIS based workflows, the basemap defines the CRS for all subsequent layers added to the scene. To setup a new basemap, and matching elevation map contact your projects GIS lead.

Project Users Menu:

The Project Users menu allows the project owner to invite other users to the project. To this by typing their email address into the top input field, and hitting the + button to add them to the project.

Users must also have a valid license for Tobe Builder in order to be able to access the main projects menu. Users without a valid license, or access via your companies single sign on (SSO) will be unable to log into Tobe Builde.r

To remove users select them from the menu, and then click the remove user button from within the inspector.

Schedule Create & Update

The Programme icon can be used to create, remove, refresh the program, or perform updates to tasks or BIM links via the TSV process.

Create & Refresh: refer to importing a pre-existing program from a CPM scheudling tool such as Oracle Primavera, Asta Powerproject, or Microsoft Project (XER. PP, and MPP respectively.)

Export & Import: Are the tools used to trigger export to and from Microsoft Excel for manual data manipulation (TSV Tool).

Tasks & Current Date

The final section of the breadcrumb allows users to navigate forward and back between the current set of filtered tasks via the previous and next arrows. This allows the user to quickly move to the next task when performing a workflow on a number of sequential tasks at once.

The date icon can be used to set the timepick date to any point along the project duration.

Top Right Menu

Layout Dropdown

The layout dropdown allows users to quickly swap between user interface layouts as they progress through various workflows. Users can also define their own layouts and update existing layouts at any time.

Undo and Redo tools

These Two buttons will undo the last thing that you have done up until when you first opened the current session of the project. If you go back to far you can then use the redo button to go forward through the tasks you have done.

The task redo button will not be able to go forward if you edit anything in the project while in a previous state.

Hotkeys:

Undo - Ctrl + Z

Redo - Ctrl + Y

Notifications

The Notifications window allows users to track what actions Tobe Builder is taking in the background, and also records any failed actions such as failed model imports, or failed parametric model creation.

By default the notifications only appear for 30 seconds, but by turning on the toggle all, you can see all actions since project load.

Report Bugs

As the name suggests this icon can be pressed to be directed to a Microsoft form where a bug found within Tobe Builder can be reported.

User Preferences

Localization: change units between US Customary, Imperial and Metric.

Object Movement is used with manual placement of BIMs. This is how far the object will move using the arrow keys.

Camera Controls: Allows users to update how the camera and mouse interacts with the scene window.

Screenshot: settings are user specific for saving screenshots triggered by the screenshot button in the top right of scene window.

Video export settings allow you to include the menu and overlay (e.g. Dashboard) as well as several other video export quality settings. The frame rate delay can be increased if poor quality is experienced because there is not enough time to refresh the view. This will slow down the time it takes to create the video by waiting for the refresh between frames.

Image sequence saves a video as a series of JPGs for advanced editing in external software video production software.

Programme Export Settings refers to the location where TSV files are export/import from for task and BIM link imports.

Interactive Settings:

Invert mouse Y is preferred by some users.

UI: Allows experienced users to hide the UI labels to minimise the size of the menus.

Application Preferences

Graphics preset: changes the graphical properties of VB to help load different size projects and models. If VB struggles to display projects (ie. frame rate falls below 10) a lower resolution will improve performance.

Show PC Vitals: Shows the hidden performance menu to track Tobe Builder Graphics performance and key PC device specs

Volume: controls the volume of mechanisms in the project. For instance, a car used in interactive mode.

Screen: selects the mode that VB takes between Windowed, Full Screen and Windowed Full Screen (Borderless).

Resolution changes the dimensions displayed on screen. A lower resolution produces smaller videos.

UI Scale allows the users to scale up or down the size of all menus and interfaces to make better use of larger format monitors.

Theme: Change Tobe Builder from Light to Dark Theme.

Data: A option to clear the program cache from local disk.

Project Exit Menu

Menu to reload the project, return to the main projects menu, or exit from the application.
