The Inbox Monster platform integrates with your Iterable instance for automated Inbox Placement testing via API connection. The following steps outline the process of creating an API Key within Iterable, connecting it with Inbox Monster, and scheduling ongoing Inbox Placement tests from within the Inbox Monster platform.

Creating your API Key

  1. Within your Iterable instance, hover over the Integrations selection near the top left of the screen, then select API Keys

  2. Within the New API Key window, assign a name to your new API Key (example: Inbox Monster API). Take note of this value (Step 7a).

  3. Assign the API Key type as Server-side

  4. Click Create API Key

  5. Copy your API Key to the clipboard. We'll be using this key in an upcoming step, and you will not have an option to access it once you click Close. (Step 7b)

  6. Ensure that you have a Verified Sender within Iterable that can be used for Seedlist Testing. (Settings > Senders)

Next Steps: Integrating with Inbox Monster

  7. Within your Inbox Monster instance, in the top right of the platform, select Settings (⚙️) > Setup and Integrations.

Scroll down to the Integrations subsection and select Iterable.

  8. When prompted, enter the following values:

    1. Api Key Name = Input the name of the API (From Step 2)

    2. API Secret = Input the API Key we copied earlier (From Step 5)

    3. API Instance = Either USDC or EDC, depending on your region/Iterable data center

  9. Click Add Integration, then Done

Scheduling Inbox Placement Tests

Once the integration process is complete, the Inbox Monster and Iterable platforms will establish the API connection for seedlist usage. This typically takes up to 24 hours.

Once complete, we'll be able to schedule Inbox Placement tests from within your Inbox Monster platform instance

To start, navigate to the "Play Button" near the top of the platform.

In the panel, select Iterable as your integration option, and complete the following:

  • Add Sending Address and select the sending domain for your test from the dropdown

    • We'll want to use a Verified Sender, as noted in Step 6.

  • Add your Friendly From. This can be any value of your choosing, as long as the Verified Sender is being used as the Sending Address (above).

  • Select any available Template content from your Iterable instance to be used for inbox placement testing.

    • Alternatively, other content can be pasted in directly via the HTML tab

    • Note: Templates built using the drag-and-drop editor for email are not available.

    • Messaging Channels can be configured as needed within Integration for navigating Template usage.

  • Add a Subject Line

To set a schedule for future tests, select the toggle next to Set Schedule and chose your preferred cadence.

Once everything is set up, click Run Monster Test

Please note that Iterable will create a "Counterpart" template when Seedlist testing is performed via the Template selection method.

Now that you've finalized the API Key Creation, Inbox Monster Integration, and Scheduled Placement Test setup, you'll begin seeing regular Inbox Placement testing from your desired domain within your Inbox Monster platform instance.

We recommend implementing scheduled placement testing for all domains that would benefit from Inbox Placement testing at the interval of your choosing.

All set Schedules can be viewed at any time via The Gear Icon ⚙️ > Setup and Integrations > Seed Schedules.
