The Inbox Monster / Braze integration allows for convenient creation of scheduled Inbox Placement Testing for all senders making use of the Braze email service provider.
This article outlines the process of API Key creation from within Braze, input of API details within your Inbox Monster platform, and scheduling your ongoing placement testings directly from within your Inbox Monster instance.
Step 1: Generate API Key in Braze
To create a new REST API Key in Braze, please perform the following actions:
Navigate to Settings > APIs and Identifiers
Give your new key a name for easy identification. We recommend something simple, like "Inbox Monster Integration".
Specify the following whitelisted IP addresses for use with Inbox Monster:
3.136.16.19
3.140.233.31
18.220.127.138
Enable the following Permissions to be associated with your new key:
Messages:
messages.send
Templates:
templates(all)
Users:
users.alias.new
users.alias.update
users.identify
users.track
For additional context, please refer to Braze's documentation.
Click "Save API Key"
Now that you've created and saved your new API Key, you're ready to begin inputting relevant information into the Inbox Monster platform to finalize the integration.
💡 Note: You'll need the following data for the next step of the integration:
API Key Name
API Secret
App ID
Below is an example of where to find each value within your Braze API Key selection settings:
Step 2: Identifying your API Instance
Braze manages a number of different instances for their API Endpoints, also known as "Instances" or “clusters.”
Logging in at dashboard.braze.com will automatically send you to the right cluster address. You can use the chart below to find your Instance (first column) based on the API URL accessed via the link above. Remember your instance code for the next step.
Step 3: Integrating with Inbox Monster
Within your Inbox Monster instance, navigate to the gear icon ⚙️ in the top right corner of the platform, then select Setup and Integrations.
Scroll down to the Integrations section and select Braze.
Input the values generated during the Braze API Key creation and your Braze Instance, then click Add Integration, then Done:
Now that you've completed the integration, you're ready to begin scheduling your automated Inbox Placement tests.
Step 3: Scheduled Inbox Placement Tests
Within your Inbox Monster platform instance, navigate to the "Play Button" near the top of the platform.
In the panel, select Braze as your integration option, and complete the following:
Add sending address and select the sending domain for your test from the dropdown.
Add your Friendly From
Select any available Template content from your Braze instance to be used for inbox placement testing
Alternatively, other content can be pasted in directly via the HTML tab
Add a Subject Line
To set a schedule for future tests, select the toggle next to Set Schedule and chose your preferred cadence.
Once everything is set up, click Run Monster Test
Now that you've finalized the API Key Creation, Inbox Monster Integration, and Scheduled Placement Test setup, you'll begin seeing regular Inbox Placement testing from your desired domain within your Inbox Monster platform instance.
We recommend implementing scheduled placement testing for all domains that would benefit from Inbox Placement testing at the interval of your choosing.
All set Schedules can be viewed at any time via The Gear Icon ⚙️ > Setup and Integrations > Seed Schedules.
