Understanding how to build and customize templates from the dashboard

Templates at your fingertips

Indago's template feature offers a convenient way to create and manage standardized reports. By organizing your content into templates, you can save time, ensure consistency, and collaborate more effectively with your team.

Objective

  1. Accessing Templates

    Navigate to the sidebar menu in Indago and click on Templates.

  2. Creating a New Template

    1. Click on the (+) in the center of the screen or the located on the far right.

    2. Name your template and clearly state its purpose.

    3. Select the tone and persona appropriate for the report.

    4. Outline the necessary sections to build a comprehensive template.

  3. Adding Elements to the Template

    1. Incorporate headers, subheads, and any repetitive information that should remain consistent.

    2. Ensure your template is clear and comprehensive, optimizing it for easy reporting.

  4. Saving and Sharing

    1. Click on Create to save your template.

    2. Your new template will be stored under your account for future use.

    3. Share the template with your team to facilitate collaborative reporting.

    4. After saving your template, you can return and edit or generate a report directly from Templates.

  5. Editing Your Template

    1. Select the pencil icon next to the template you want to edit. From there, you can modify your template.

    2. You can also select the report icon to generate a report, and from there, you are prompted to review elements of the report, including selecting your sources before generating your report.

πŸ’‘ Tip: To generate your report from Templates, you must create and add content to a Collection first. Content can be added by going to the Search page and adding articles related to your keyword search or by uploading your own content directly into your collection folder.

Best Practices and Tips

  • Make sure the template outline is well-structured and addresses all essential information.

  • Avoid cluttering the template with irrelevant or redundant details.

  • Double-check the accuracy of the template before sharing it with the team.

  • Leverage existing templates in Indago to speed up your reporting process.

  • Regularly update and refine your templates based on team feedback and shifting reporting requirements.

  • Encourage team members to create and share their own templates to enhance productivity across the board.
