What is a staging site?
A staging site is an environment for testing, editing and updating before launching a new website. It bridges the gap between what is in development and what will ultimately be your live site. It is important to note that your staging website will ultimately be your live environment, so when making changes and testing, please keep in mind that this is your new home for the publication. Once your website is live, the staging environment no longer exists, and any changes made will be visible and available to your audience.
What to expect when receiving a staging site
When you receive a staging site during onboarding, this website will allow you to learn, review and edit your website before it becomes public to your audience. Please note that sometimes staging sites will be available before or after migration, depending on the complexity of the migration and setup of your website.
How to access the staging site?
After a staging site is created, you will receive a direct link from your Publisher Guide or Onboarding Specialist, which will require you to reset your password. If you get your staging site before migration, we will work with you to schedule a content freeze. During this time, you won't be able to access or publish new posts on your website. If you receive your website after the migration, you will only experience a freeze during the domain configuration.
