For Sync 1 radios, aka Clarion radio for Ford, when first installing these radios the GPS will not work right off the bat most of the time. You will need to clear the radio's DTCs then drive around for a few days to get at least 8 satellite signals to be able to triangulate your position.

To clear the DTCs on the radio. Turn the audio off on the radio by hitting the "VOL/PUSH" button, you'll see Audio OFF on the radio screen. Then hold down 3 & 6 for a few seconds. This will get you into what they call "Bezel Diagnostics" From there hit "GPS Info" at the bottom left corner. Once in GPS Info you'll see the # Satellites the radio is picking up, this number needs to reach 8 to get GPS/Navigation to track your location. These sync 1 radios can take a few days of driving around to pick up enough satellites. If after a week you see no change in satellite number then there is an issue with either the radio, GPS antenna, or the DTCs weren't cleared.

Radio on with Audio off: Hold 3 & 6 down for a few seconds.

Bezel Diagnostic screen:

In GPS Info, you'll see the number of satellites the radio is picking up via the GPS Antenna, the pink fakra port on the rear of the radio.

Again if this fails to get Navigation to pick up vehicle location after a week then either something is wrong with the GPS antenna, radio, or DTCs weren't cleared.
