After installing your UConnect Handsfree Microphone into your RER or RHR headunit, and trying to set up voice recognition, if you receive and error stating "Voice recognition not available. UConnect not available," do the below following steps to fix the error:
Press SEEK UP and SEEK DOWN and MENU at the same time, to enter Engineering Menu on the radio.
Scroll down to "Enable JK" and click on it to enable it.
Turn the vehicle off, then turn it back on and Press the Phone button to test out the unit.
If that didn't work, try this:
RER and RHR Engineering Menu: SEEK UP/DOWN and MENU, then click Accept at the warning screen.
DO NOT DO A SCREEN CALIBRATION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
Go down a page or two, and you should see "Factory Default Reset" or "Factory Reset" and after selecting that, the radio will reboot after about 30-60 seconds.
The radio will have to recollect satellites for GPS, so nav might be inaccurate right away.
