A workflow automates what happens after something occurs in Innercrowd, like a contact getting tagged or an ambassador application being approved. Instead of manually sending a follow-up email or WhatsApp message every time, you set it up once and Innercrowd handles it going forward.
How a workflow is built
Every workflow starts with a trigger — the event that starts it, such as a contact getting a specific tag or a landing page registration coming in. From there, you build a chain of actions, like waiting a set amount of time, sending an email or WhatsApp template, or checking a condition and splitting the flow into two paths depending on the answer.
A workflow isn't limited to a single action. You can chain several actions together, add waits between them, and branch based on conditions — for example, sending a different follow-up to contacts who bought a specific ticket type versus those who didn't.
When to use a workflow
Workflows are a good fit whenever you find yourself repeating the same manual follow-up for a recurring event:
Welcoming newly tagged VIP contacts with a dedicated email
Following up with ambassadors after their application is approved or rejected
Sending a reminder a few days before an event to everyone who bought a ticket
Nudging contacts who registered on a landing page but haven't taken the next step
