Network configuration - Cloud part

Updated over a month ago

By default, the Indabox's Cloud part uses the fixed IP address 192.168.1.223.

If needed, you have the possibility to modify this configuration.

This article explains how to modify this network configuration to use either dynamic IP address assignment (DHCP) or a custom static IP address.

Prerequisites : This procedure must be performed by a user with an administrator or maintenance role.

Navigate to the “Box Management / Cloud Box Management” menu.

You will be redirected to the following page :

In the “Configure IP Address” section, a dropdown list allows you to select the desired network configuration type :

DHCP configuration

DHCP mode allows the Indabox's Cloud part to automatically obtain an IP address from a DHCP server on your network.

From the dropdown list, select the DHCP option.

Click the “Send command” button to apply the configuration.

Note : Changing the network configuration for the device's cloud part will cause a system restart for these changes to take effect.

After the system restarts, if you wish to access the web maintenance interface again, maintenance mode must be re-enabled (refer to "Enabling maintenance mode")

Static IP configuration

You can assign a specific fixed IP address to the Indabox's Cloud part.

In the “Configure IP Address” section, select "Static IP" :

Enter the desired static IP address in the “IP address” field, then click on "Send command".

Note : Changing the network configuration for the device's cloud part will cause a system restart for these changes to take effect.

After the system restarts, if you wish to access the web maintenance interface again, maintenance mode must be re-enabled (refer to "Enabling maintenance mode")

Configuring Gateway and DNS Server for Static IP:

If you have chosen a static IP address, you must also configure the default gateway and DNS server. This is done via the maintenance interface.

Access the maintenance interface using the static IP address you just configured (refer to the article : Cloud maintenance mode ), then go to the Configuration/Network settings menu :

Specify a default gateway address and a DNS Server address.

For instance :

To confirm, click on Save.

Note : Changing the network configuration will cause a system restart for these changes to take effect.
