Tax calendar: The functions briefly explained

The Tax Calendar shows the key tax periods for your selected canton and helps you stay on track throughout the year.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Year Selector

At the top of the page, you can switch between different years using the left and right arrows or the year dropdown (e.g., 2025).
This allows you to review deadlines for previous, current, or upcoming tax years.

Canton Selector

Next to the year selector, you can choose your canton (e.g., Zurich).
This is important because tax deadlines can vary depending on where you live.

When you change the canton, all deadlines, statuses, and calendar highlights automatically adjust to that canton’s rules.

Calendar View (Monthly Grid)

The right side of the Tax Calendar shows the entire year in a monthly grid. Each day is visually marked with a color-coded circle to help you understand the status of tax-related events at a glance.

  • Grey circle → past events

  • 🔵 Blue circle → currently active events

  • 🟠 Orange circle → upcoming events

  • Black circle → today’s date (current day)

This layout makes it easy to track where you are in the tax cycle and see which periods are active or approaching. As you change the year or canton, the calendar automatically updates to reflect the correct event timeline.

Canton-Specific Information

Each card dynamically adapts to the selected canton.
When you switch cantons and years, the cards update to match the official tax rules of that specific region.
