Tax Allocation

Updated over 2 weeks ago

What is a tax allocation?

A tax allocation determines which canton or country has the right to tax specific parts of your income or assets.

In most cases, you do not need to do anything. If a tax allocation is necessary, it is usually carried out by the tax authorities.

Entering a tax allocation is therefore optional.

Examples

A tax allocation is required, for example, if you:

  • own real estate in another canton or abroad

  • earn income in another canton

  • have assets or income abroad

  • are subject to taxation in more than one canton at the same time

Document

The final tax allocation is normally prepared by the tax authorities and is shown in the final tax assessment.

How to add it in iqtax

Entering this information is optional. If you have income or assets in multiple cantons or abroad, you can manually enter a tax allocation here.
