What is this?
Here you can deduct contributions to the AHV/IV or the 2nd pillar if you paid them directly yourself and they were not already included in your salary certificate by an employer.
This usually applies to AHV contributions for non-working individuals or voluntary contributions to a pension fund.
Example
You are spending a year abroad and paying AHV contributions for non-working individuals to avoid a gap in your AHV coverage. Since you pay these contributions directly to the AHV and not through an employer, you can enter them here as a deduction.
You are making a voluntary contribution to your pension fund. This allows you to increase your pension fund balance and, depending on your situation, optimize your taxes.
Document
The relevant document is the confirmation from the AHV compensation office or, for voluntary contributions to the pension fund, section 10.2 of the salary certificate.
How to add it in iqtax
Go to Other Deductions > Other Deductions and click “Add New.” Select Contributions to AHV, IV, and the 2nd Pillar, and enter the details (individual, contribution type, and amount in CHF). To finish, upload the supporting document.
