Updated this week

We’re phasing out support for legacy courses. From the 2nd March 2026 authors will no longer be able to edit legacy courses and manage users will not be able to create or edit legacy class activations.

What this means for authors and reviewers

Authors and reviews will no longer be able to edit or view legacy courses.

We strongly that you do either or both of the suggestions below:

  • Create a class activation and add yourself (and anyone else who may need access) as a facilitator. This way you can still view all activities, quizzes, assessments and content.

  • Create a copy of the course and toggle to tasks (you'll lose the activities, quizzes, and assessment, but will be able to view content).

What this means for manage users

Manage users will no longer be able to create or edit class activations, for the moment they will still be able to view the history of a legacy course as well as see the class activation details for classes of legacy courses.

What this means for learners and facilitators

At this stage, the learner and facilitator experience will not change, they will still be able to view and interact with their current and past legacy courses and should not notice any change.

How to identify legacy courses

On the Create dashboard, legacy courses are now shown with Legacy after the course title.

Screenshot is of the course title on the create dashboard with the legacy tag next to the course name.
