As you progress through your course, you may see assessed tasks and quizzes that need to be completed by a specific due date. Some assessments may also have opening conditions that determine when or how your assessments become available.
These details are shown directly on each task, and also on your Tasks page where you can view all your tasks in one place.
Note: Some assessments may have a weighting applied. This shows how much the assessment contributes to your overall course result. If weighting is used, it will be shown next to the assessment.
What are due dates and opening conditions for?
Due dates and opening conditions help guide your learning by:
Making it clear when assessments need to be completed
Helping ensure you complete important learning steps before moving on
Helping you plan and manage your workload across the course
Tip: You can add assessment due dates to your personal calendar to help you stay organised and avoid missing deadlines.
Types of opening conditions and how you unlock assessments
Some assessments may not be available straight away. Instead, they may be locked until certain conditions are met. When an assessment is locked, you will only see limited information such as the title and any availability details.
You may see the following types of opening conditions:
Opening by date: The assessment becomes available on a specific course date
Opening by score: The assessment unlocks once you achieve a minimum score in another task or quiz
Combined conditions: The assessment becomes available when either the set date is reached or the required score is achieved (whichever happens first)
Depending on your course setup, you can unlock assessments by:
Reaching the required course date
Achieving the required minimum score in a previous task or quiz
Once you meet the required condition, the assessment will automatically become available. If your task or quiz requires marking from your facilitator or coach, the assessment will not open until your grade has been submitted.

Notifications when an assessment unlocks
If you unlock an assessment by achieving a required score in a task or quiz, you’ll receive an in-app notification letting you know. This notification includes a direct link to the assessment so you can access it immediately.
