The Talk channels are there as an environment to encourage discussion but sometimes as a Facilitator you may feel there are some instances where Muting Talk channel posts is appropriate. One example is if you feel the channel is no longer relevant, you may choose to mute it. Another example might be if you feel certain posts are inappropriate.

How to:

When hovering over a talk channel post or response you will see the no-sound speaker icon, click on this icon.

Once you have clicked the no-sound speaker icon you will be prompted to provide a reason for why the channel post has been muted. The reason inputed will be displayed to the learners in the course.

Once the post has been muted, the post will display like the below image:
