In your course you'll notice three icons on the bottom right of each item of content (text, video, picture etc.).

These three icons let you:

  • Notes: Make private notes just for yourself.

  • Discuss: Add a comment about the content that others can see.

  • Report: Let your facilitator(s) know if there's something wrong with the content.

In this article, we'll look at making your own private notes.

How to make a private note in your course

Find the part of the page where you want to add a note.

Select the Note icon (sticky note/page icon on the left) to bring up a space where you can add your note.

You can put any plain text into a note. And you can add tags so you can easily filter your notes later for revision.

All your notes for the course are collected together under Notes in the left menu.

How to use notes to improve your learning

Notes can be really helpful for your study! You might:

  • Add your reflections or thoughts.

  • Re-write something in your own words.

  • Add a note to come back to this later.

  • Tag something as relating to an assessment.

  • Add a question/term to quiz yourself when you review your Notes collection.
