What is a task variation?
Sometimes you might see that a task in your course is a “variation” (as shown in the highlighted blue box below the task name).
A variation is one version (of many) of a particular task. Some learners in your class will see the same task you do, others will see a different version.
Courses sometimes use variations to offer learners different case study contexts or to minimise the sharing of assessments.
Note: If you have any questions, reach out to your facilitator or learning provider for assistance.
Which task variation will I see in my course?
When you first visit a page with a task with variations, you’ll be randomly allocated one variation of that task.
From then on, every time you visit that page, you'll see the same task variation. Even if your task attempt is reopened or reset, you’ll get the same task variation to re-submit.
Note: One exception is that if your learning provider has changed the task variation you were assigned, you then might be assigned a new variation of the task.
