Generating an article on Ithy is a straightforward process that leverages advanced AI technology to create comprehensive, well-structured content based on your input. All articles are premium articles, designed to be much more comprehensive than a typical response from ChatGPT or Perplexity.
The Three-Stage Journey
Input & Preferences
Type your question (1,000 chars Free, 128,000 Pro). The quality of the article Ithy generates often starts with the quality of your input.
Be Specific: The more specific your question or prompt, the more focused and relevant the resulting article will be. Instead of "Tell me about dogs," try "What are the common health issues in Golden Retrievers and their preventive measures?"
Provide Context (if needed): If your topic is niche or requires a particular angle, include that in your prompt. Remember, you can also use Custom Instructions (see "Getting Started with Custom Instructions") for overarching guidance.
Voice input: While Ithy does not have a microphone button, you can use the built-in voice-to-text functions on your device's keyboard to input text with your voice. Ithy supports text input in any language.
Choose Fast (gold button) or Deep (teal).
Fast Research Mode:
Visually distinguished by a gold-colored button.
Described as "the world's fastest researcher."
Designed for quicker results, providing a faster overview of a topic. This mode may be less in-depth than Deep Research but is ideal when speed is a priority.
Despite its speed, it utilizes powerful AI models.
Deep Research Mode:
Visually distinguished by a teal-colored button.
Described as "combines multiple researchers."
This is often the default mode if you don't explicitly select Fast mode.
Designed for more comprehensive and in-depth research, potentially taking a bit longer to generate.
Optionally attach PDFs or images (Pro).
Click the paperclip icon to attach files.
Ithy Pro users may have the option to upload files (such as PDF, PNG, or JPG/JPEG) to accompany their prompts.
This can provide additional context or source material for the AI to analyze, leading to even more tailored articles.
Behind the curtain, Ithy appends any Custom Instruction, visual toggles, and your current folder context.
Research & Synthesis
Ithy fires parallel search queries to engines like Google, Bing, Perplexity, and proprietary sources.
Multiple AI models (Gemini 2.5, Grok 3 Mini High, OpenAI o4-mini, etc.) each draft an answer.
A coordinator agent blends these drafts, resolves conflicts, cites sources, and injects visuals per your toggles.
Ithy does not censor responses. If one of AI models we use decides to censor a response, Ithy will fall back to a different model to pursue the truth. But if all the AI models we use refuse to respond, then Ithy cannot provide an answer.
Delivery & Scoring
A progress bar climbs from 0% to 100%. Do not leave the page; switching to other tabs will stop the progress.
Streaming Output: The content will start streaming to your page in real-time, allowing you to begin reading as it's being written.
After a minute, an “Article Ready” notification appears. You earn 25–1,000+ points depending on query difficulty and mode. The notification will include:
A checkmark icon indicating success.
Information about points earned for generating the article (e.g., "217 points").
The URL of your newly generated article.
Options to share the article or start a chat about its content.
The piece is stored in History; links to share, export, or start a chat appear instantly.
Understanding Your Generated Article's Structure
Articles generated by Ithy are designed for clarity and readability. They generally include:
Title: A clear H1 title related to your question.
Subtitle: Often an H3 tag providing further context.
Introduction: A section to set the stage for the topic.
Well-Structured Sections: Main content divided into sections with headings (H2, H3, H4) for easy navigation. These headings are often color-coded for visual distinction.
Bullet Points and Lists: Key information, steps, or features are often presented in bulleted (ul) or numbered (ol) lists with custom styling.
Images: Relevant images sourced from Google Images may be embedded if this visual element is enabled in your settings and the AI deems them appropriate. Images are typically resized and compressed for optimal loading.
Highlighted Sections: Important information might be visually emphasized.
Citations and References: Where applicable, the AI may attempt to include citations or references to source materials. (Always verify critical citations).
Optional Elements: Depending on your visual settings and the topic, the article might also include:
A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
Mind maps.
Radar charts.
Summaries or links to relevant YouTube videos.
Code Blocks: For technical queries involving programming, code snippets will be formatted with syntax highlighting.
Images and Videos
Ithy does not use AI to generate images or videos. Instead, we perform intelligent online searches to find the most relevant royalty-free media to include in your article. This may not be perfect, so you always have the option to disable images or videos in your Account settings.
If you decide to upload images as part of your question, please be aware that we respect your privacy and uploaded files are never saved. This means that even if you upload an image, it will never be included as part of your article.
Post-Generation Features
After your article is ready, you can interact with it in several ways:
Share Article: Easily copy the article link or use direct sharing options.
Export Article: Pro users can download or export the article (e.g., as a PDF).
Start Chat: Begin a conversation about the article's content using your preferred integrated chat provider (selectable in your account settings).
Copy Link: Get a direct URL to the article for bookmarking or sharing.
By understanding this process, you can make the most of Ithy's article generation capabilities and craft effective prompts to get the information you need, presented in a clear and useful format.
