Cards and Collectibles: Best Practices for Sellers

What you will learn

This guide brings together best practices for selling collectible cards, stickers, diecast cars and figures on Jamble. You will see which fields the listing asks for in each category, how to choose the right condition, how to take photos that sell and how Abertura ao Vivo (Live opening) works for sealed products.

Before you start

You need:

  • An approved seller account on Jamble

  • The items in hand, to check each one's condition

  • Good light and a plain background for photos

Collectible categories

When you create a product, you choose the Categoria (Category). For collectibles, the main ones are:

  • TCG: Cartas de Pokémon (Pokémon cards), Magic: The Gathering, Cartas de Yu-Gi-Oh!, Cartas de One Piece, Cartas de Lorcana and Outros TCG (Other TCG)

  • Cards Esportivos (Sports cards): soccer, basketball, American football, baseball, hockey, racing, combat sports and other sports cards

  • Figurinhas (Stickers): single stickers, packs, boxes and albums

  • Carros Miniatura (Diecast cars): Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Maisto, Burago, Greenlight, Mini GT, Tarmac Works, Kyosho and Outros Diecast (Other diecast)

  • Bonecos (Figures): Funko Pop!, Action Figures and Outros Bonecos (Other figures)

Always choose the most specific category. The listing fields and conditions change with the category.

The fields of each category

After you choose the category, the app shows the fields for that category. The main ones are:

TCG

  • Condição (Condition) and Tipo (Type) (required). Type says whether it is a Carta Individual (Single card) or a sealed product, such as Booster Pack, Booster Box, Elite Trainer Box or Tin

  • Idioma (Language)

  • Raridade (Rarity) (in Pokémon and Lorcana, for single cards)

  • Serviço de Classificação (Grading service) and Nota (Grade), for graded cards (PSA, Beckett, CGC or SGC)

Cards Esportivos

  • Condição and Tipo (required), for example Carta Individual, Booster Pack, Hobby Box or Blaster Box

  • Marca (Brand), Idioma and Autografado (Signed)

  • Serviço de Classificação and Nota, for graded cards

Figurinhas

  • Condição (required)

  • Formato (Format), for example Figurinha Avulsa (Single sticker), Pacotinho (Lacrado) (Sealed pack), Caixa (Lacrada) (Sealed box) or Álbum Completo (Complete album)

  • Coleção (Collection)

Carros Miniatura

  • Condição and Escala (Scale) (required), for example 1:64 or 1:43

Bonecos

  • Condição (required)

  • For Funko Pop!: Formato, Coleção, Variante Chase (Chase variant) and Exclusivo (Exclusive)

  • For Action Figures: Coleção and Escala (required)

The more fields you fill in, the easier it is for buyers to find your item in search and trust the listing.

Choose the right condition

The Condição options depend on the category:

  • TCG and Cards Esportivos: Novo (New), Mint, Quase Mint (Near Mint), Pouco Usado (Lightly Played), Muito Usado (Heavily Played), Danificado (Damaged)

  • Carros Miniatura: Novo, Mint, Quase Mint, Danificado

  • Figurinhas and Bonecos: Mint, Quase Mint, Bom (Good), Danificado

Each option shows a description in the app. Some tips:

  • Sealed product: use Novo in TCG, Cards Esportivos and Carros Miniatura

  • Single card with no marks: Mint or Quase Mint

  • White edges, scratches or creases: Pouco Usado or Muito Usado

  • Dented box or blister: the packaging counts. Choose one level lower and show the defect in the photos

When in doubt, choose one level lower. See all conditions by category.

Photos that sell

Four photos comparing what to do and what to avoid: dark background with sharp focus and the back with a visible toploader, against flash glare on a foil card and a blurry photo

Use a plain background, soft light from above and sharp focus. Avoid flash on holographic or foil cards, because the glare hides the artwork.

Single cards

  1. Front of the card, whole and in focus

  2. Back of the card

  3. Close-up of defects: edges, scratches, creases

  4. The card in its sleeve or toploader

  5. For graded cards, the label with the grade

Sealed products (boosters, boxes, packs)

  1. Front and back of the packaging

  2. The seal or wrap, to show it has not been opened

  3. Any damage to the packaging

Boxed cars and figures

  1. Front of the box or blister

  2. Sides, back and corners

  3. Any damage: dents, tears, fading

  4. The item out of the box, if you sell it without packaging (say so in the title)

Live opening

For products in your live, you can turn on Abertura ao Vivo: "Este item lacrado será aberto durante o show assim que for comprado" (This sealed item will be opened during the show once purchased). The option appears on sealed items, such as booster packs, boxes and other sealed TCG products, and also in the other collectible categories.

How it works:

  1. When you create the live product, turn on Abertura ao Vivo

  2. After paying, the buyer chooses whether you open the item in the live (Abrir, Open) or whether they prefer to receive it sealed (Manter lacrado, Keep sealed)

  3. If the buyer does not answer, the item stays sealed

  4. In your sold list, each purchase shows the buyer's choice, such as Aberto (Open) or Lacrado (Sealed)

Only open the item when the buyer chooses Abrir. If they choose to open, you open it on camera and ship what came out of the pack. If they choose to keep it sealed, ship the product closed.

Tips for a good opening:

  • Build anticipation. Do not rush to reveal the cards

  • Show each card to the camera. Hold it steady and close, so everyone can read the name and see the art

  • Say the buyer's name. They are watching the opening of their purchase

During the live

  • Say what you are showing. Not everyone is an expert. Name the card, the set, the rarity and the condition

  • Plan the order. Start with lower value items and keep the best for the middle or end of the live

  • Use Real-time offers for rare items. Competition between buyers tends to raise the value of highly wanted cards. For common items in volume, Comprar Agora (Buy now) is faster

Title and shipping

Title: include the name, the set and the detail that matters.

  • Good: "Charizard VMAX, Shining Fates, Quase Mint"

  • Bad: "Rare Pokémon card"

Perfil de envio (Shipping profile): choose Automático (Automatic) so the app calculates weight and size from the item type, Informar peso e tamanho (Enter weight and size) to pick the ranges yourself, or a shipping profile you created.

Important tips

  • Protect your cards. Use a sleeve and toploader and pack them between firm cardboard. Never ship loose cards in a plain envelope

  • Declare any modification. Signed, altered or custom art cards must be clear in the listing

  • Only sell original products. Counterfeit, tampered or resealed products are not allowed

  • Only open with the buyer's choice. With Live opening, always follow the option the buyer chose

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to grade my cards before selling? No. Many buyers look for ungraded cards. Describe the condition carefully. If the card is graded, fill in Serviço de Classificação and Nota.

Can I sell cards from any TCG? Yes. Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana and other TCGs are welcome. If your game is not on the list, use Outros TCG.

Which condition do I use for a sealed booster? Use Novo.

Can the buyer choose not to open the product? Yes. After paying, they choose Abrir or Manter lacrado. If they do not answer, the item stays sealed.

Can I sell a booster that has already been opened? Not as sealed. Once it is opened, sell the cards that came out of the pack.

How do I ship single cards? Put the card in a sleeve and then in a toploader, and protect it with cardboard. When you create the product, use Automático for the shipping profile or enter weight and size.
