Jenni’s AI Autocomplete helps you write faster by generating sentence-by-sentence suggestions based on your prompt, your draft, and even your uploaded research.

It’s perfect for beating writer’s block, improving fluency, or just getting your ideas on the page with less friction.

In this article:

How It Works

  1. When you begin a new document, Jenni asks you to describe your paper topic. This helps the AI understand your writing context.

  2. Begin typing your first sentence.

Jenni will automatically suggest how to continue your sentence or paragraph, one line at a time.

  3. Accept or Try Again

    • Hit Tab or click Accept to add the suggestion to your draft.

    • Hit Shift + → or click Try Again to cycle through new options.

  4. Keep Writing as Normal

You’re not locked in! You can ignore suggestions and type freely anytime—Jenni will jump back in when you pause.

💡 Tip: Don’t want suggestions appearing automatically?

You can turn off Autocomplete in your Document Settings. Then, use Command (⌘) / or Ctrl + / to manually trigger a suggestion anytime you want one.

Jenni doesn’t just work at the start of a sentence. You can place your cursor anywhere in a paragraph, and Jenni will generate context-aware suggestions from that point.

Smart Citations as You Write

As you type, Jenni will automatically insert suggested in-text citations from your uploaded sources when relevant. You’ll see them appear in-line, ready to be accepted or ignored.
