How do I start a new document with Jenni?

To start writing with Jenni, head over to the top of the left side bar of the dashboard and select "New Document".

Note: If the side bar is not open, please click the icon shown below to toggle it.

From there, you will be given the option to add a prompt to start your document. This will help Jenni understand what you would like to write about so it can provide you with accurate suggestions and sources. Jenni will also grade the quality of the prompt so it is important to try and be as specific as possible and include relevant keywords.

Example Prompt: Jenni will rate your prompt from weak to great

Here is a great Jenni AI prompt example: "A literature review about climate change in Northern Europe over the past 10 years".

To learn how to edit your prompt, see: Document Settings

How do I use AI Autocomplete?

Once you have entered your prompt, Jenni will automatically start providing autocomplete suggestions on a sentence by sentence basis that you will have to Accept before it will be added into your paper. Whether you’re starting a new sentence or in the middle of an existing sentence, Jenni will be able to provide you suggestions on how to continue.

If you would like to see different options, you can select Try Again and Jenni will cycle through new suggestions. If you do not see any suggestion that you particularly like, you can simply continue writing like normal until you need another extra boost of inspiration with Jenni.

Jenni will also suggest in-text citations from relevant sources when it is deemed necessary. To add more citations, see: Generating In-Text Citations
