Generating in-text citations
To generate in-text citations, highlight any section of text and click the Cite button to open our Citation Manager.
Note: You can also use the "@" keyboard shortcut to open our Citation Manager.
See the image below of how our citation manager works:
Green Box: To search and find new relevant sources, you can add additional keywords to our search box. Try to be as specific as possible for the best results.
Red Box: In our Citation Manager, you will be given the option to choose from relevant sources from the web or your Library.
Blue Box: Filter for sources by exact publish year, relevance, and recency.
Purple Box: Easily add a citation into your paper or review the source in a new tab for more context
You can also create custom citations where you can paste DOI/PMID URLs to auto-populate the information.
Note: When you add a citation in Jenni, it will automatically create a reference list at the bottom of your Jenni document
Citation styles
Currently, Jenni offers the following citation styles:

Where are citations coming from?
Jenni offers two options on where your suggestions and citations are coming from:
Auto-cite from New Sources: This will enable Jenni to consider external online sources that are relevant to your topic.
Auto-cite from Library: This will enable Jenni to consider the sources and documents uploaded into your Jenni Library
To turn toggle these options based on your research needs, see Document Settings
