How do I make a voluntary contribution?

Written by Alison Perkins

To voluntarily contribute to your Kernel KiwiSaver Plan, you can make a payment to the following registered payee.

Our registered payee: Kernel KiwiSaver Plan

Reference: Your IRD number

Alternatively, you can create a manual deposit by using the following details.

Bank account name: Kernel KiwiSaver Plan

Bank account number: 01-1839-0944765-00

Reference: Your IRD number

Failing to use the correct IRD number as a reference will lead to delays.

How many voluntary contributions have I already made?

Find out how many voluntary contributions you've made this year by doing the following:

Step 2: Navigate to the 'KiwiSaver' tab, in the main menu.

Step 3: Click on the 'View full breakdown' button. A drawer will open and show a full breakdown of all contributions during the year to date.

I made a voluntary contribution to my Kernel KiwiSaver. When will it show in my account?

If you've made a voluntary contribution directly to the Kernel KiwiSaver bank account, it can take up to 3 business days before it appears in your KiwiSaver balance.

Once we receive your contribution, we need to process the payment and purchase units in your chosen funds in line with your investment strategy. Your KiwiSaver balance will update once the units have been allocated to your account.

Please note that weekends and New Zealand public holidays are not business days, so contributions made on a Friday, weekend, or public holiday may take a little longer to appear.
