Learn how to efficiently initiate and manage ESG data collection requests for your portfolio companies. This guide walks you through the configuration process, including setting reporting deadlines and managing company metrics

Setting up your data request

Step 1

Navigate to the data request tab in your fund manager account

Step 2

Select the button, '+ data request' to add a new data request
On this page, you can see all the data requests launched for the year you have selected at the top of the page

Step 3

You can either pick a pre-made framework from our framework library:

OR

You can create your own custom framework

Creating a custom framework is helpful when you are looking to create a framework based on a mixture of a set framework plus some other metrics or adding custom metrics to your data request

You will need to create a name for your framework

Then you use the metric library to pick which metrics you would like to include in your framework, custom metrics are also found here

Step 4

You can enforce a data entry cadence for each metric, or simply leave it on the standard setting of yearly data entry

Step 5

Next, you choose which of your portfolio companies should be included in the data request, you can select 'all' or pick one by one

Step 6

Finally, you can set a deadline for the reporting on this framework, and choose whether the portfolio companies should be notified upon launch

Step 7

Once this has all been completed, press 'launch data request'

Editing your data request

Please note that you can only edit the parts of the data request that have not been reported against, for example: if a company has started their reporting but you would like to remove them from the data request, you will need to reach out to support to do so.

You edit your data request by clicking on the three dots on the right top corner of the data request

For data requests made up of pre-made frameworks, you can edit:

  • The data point entry cadence

  • The companies included in the data request

  • The data request deadline

  • Remove the data request (only if no data has been reported)

For custom frameworks, you can edit:

  • The metrics included in the framework

  • The data point entry cadence

  • The companies included in the data request

  • The data request deadline

  • remove the data request (only if no data has been reported)
