Who is a Reviewer?
A Reviewer is a user assigned to check specific data, usually at the entity or data-point level, before it's locked as part of a final submission. This is different from being an Admin: Admins configure whether a review step exists and who the reviewers are; Reviewers do the actual reviewing. You might be a Reviewer without also being an Admin, and vice versa.
If you're not sure whether review has been set up for your organisation, or what's been assigned to you, check with your Admin or Account Owner, or see Data Review and Sign-Off for how the workflow is configured.
Finding what's assigned to you
Once something has been assigned to you for review, it will appear in your Review and sign off tab, accessible from the main navigation bar under 'Data'. From here you can see everything currently awaiting your input, grouped by entity or data point depending on how your organisation has set up reviews.
Reviewing a submission
Open an item from your Submission Viewer list to see the data as submitted, along with any supporting evidence or comments left by the person who entered it.
Decide on one of three actions:
Approve: the data is correct and ready to move toward sign-off.
Reject: the data needs to be corrected. You'll typically be prompted to leave a comment explaining why, so the submitter knows what to fix.
Comment: you have a question or note, but aren't ready to approve or reject yet.
If you reject a submission or leave a comment, the assigned Data Gatherer or Team Member is notified and can respond or update the data. It will come back to you for another look once they've done so.
Tips for reviewing efficiently
Use the Data Validation flags as a first reference (if this has been set up)
If you're reviewing a large batch, work through one entity at a time rather than jumping between different entities' data points, it keeps context consistent and reduces the chance of missing something.
Leaving a specific comment (which data point, what's wrong, what you'd expect instead) saves round-trips compared to a general rejection.
What happens after you approve everything assigned to you
Once all data points and entities assigned to you have been approved, the submission can move to final sign-off (handled by an Admin or Account Owner). You don't need to do anything further at that point, but you may be asked to review again next cycle, or if any data changes after sign-off.
