With collaborator access to your campaign, Kickbooster taps into the crowdfunding platform’s built-in referrer system to accurately track and report affiliate referrals. Access to your backer report also allows Kickbooster to validate pledges when needed.

How it works

1. Unique Referrer IDs

  • Affiliate Enrollment: When an affiliate joins your referral program, they're assigned a unique referrer ID.

  • Referral Link Integration: This ID is automatically tied to their unique referral link, enabling Kickbooster to track every interaction coming from that link.

2. Dashboard Reporting

  • Tracking Referred Amounts: Each referrer ID captures the dollar amounts associated with referrals, including both new pledges and any canceled pledges during the live campaign.

  • Dashboard Visibility: Every four hours, we review updates to your affiliates' referrer IDs on the crowdfunding platform and refresh both your dashboard and your affiliates' dashboards with the latest changes and corresponding commission earnings.

3. Live Campaign Monitoring

  • Continuous Updates: Throughout the live campaign, Kickbooster monitors every activity linked to each referrer ID. This includes tracking both successful pledges and any subsequent pledge cancellations.

4. Post-Campaign Reconciliation and Invoicing

  • Final Check: At the end of a successfully funded campaign, we perform a final reconciliation on each referrer ID.

  • Invoicing Affiliate Fees: Based on this final check, we invoice affiliates for their fees according to the total referred amount.

  • Kickstarter Specifics: For Kickstarter campaigns, we wait 7 days after the campaign concludes. This delay allows Kickstarter sufficient time to process all transactions, including any failed payment pledges.

5. Cross-Referencing with Dropped Backers for Kickstarter

  • Validation Process: Before invoicing affiliate fees, Kickbooster automatically cross-references each affiliate’s transactions with your campaign’s dropped backer list.

  • Commission Adjustments: If any pledges match in both date and amount with dropped backers, the corresponding commissions are removed to ensure that only valid referrals are compensated.

By combining accurate tracking with detailed post-campaign reconciliation, Kickbooster ensures that affiliates earn commissions for valid referrals, helping your crowdfunding campaign run smoothly and transparently.
