How should I set up my campaign?

A few options are available to you. More information on Best Practices here.

What does the 'Booking Network' mean?

We have combined the Sponsored Ads program of Agoda, Priceline and Booking.com into one program: The Booking Network, which enables hotels to use one platform for 3 programs.

Why can't I see my ad when I run a search in my market?

Once your campaign is activated, the bid will enter the auction within seconds to minutes. On the overview and reporting pages, if you see clicks and impressions (views), then travelers are interacting with your ad.

When you run a search on the booking network, you may not always see your ad on the search result. This may happen for example if your bid is not winning the auction, or if your hotel is already at the top of the organic search result.

How can I tell which listing in the search results is an ad?

The ad listing looks almost identical to the organic listing. It is placed at the top of the search result (usually position #2, but it may vary).

Booking.com - You will see an “Ad” tag on the listing

Priceline.com - You will see a “Promoted” tag on the listing

Agoda.com - You will see a “Promoted” tag on the listing

With Booking Network: if we need to change our organic listing, do we have to update it with each of the three publishers or will there be one extranet to update our photos and property details?

To update your organic listing, you will need to work directly with the specific site (Agoda, Priceline or Booking.com) on which you want to make changes.

How is the final CPC calculated when a hotel wins the auction?

We use a second-price auction model, which makes sure a hotel pays the lowest amount possible to win. If for example it takes $1 to win and the hotel bids $1.75, they will only pay $1.

When is the Cost Per Click charged?

The CPC is charged on any click on your ad, that directs travelers to the hotel page (e.g. see more availability” button, clicking on the property name, or clicking “show on map” all would trigger the CPC charge).

How can I prevent all of my budget from being spent early in the day?

Selecting "Even Pacing" as your pacing type at the Custom Campaign level, will allow you to have your daily budget spread out evenly throughout the day, allowing you to see more activity throughout the course of the day.

Is the Targeting criteria an "and" or "or" function

If you select a Multiplier or Boost targeting, then your targeting can be combined for an even more competitive bid on relevant searches. Exact Match targeting however, will limit your visiblity to only searches that fall within the specified criteria. We recommend creating a secondary campaign for any exact match targeting for this reason.

How do I know a recommended budget for my campaigns?

Once you have created your account & campaign you will need to create a Campaign and/or Ad Group. Within each Campaign/Ad Group, you're able to select all the hotels that you would like to activate, the Recommended Budget will automatically update and populate the recommended budgets for all of the hotels within your campaign/ad group.

If we want to target check-ins between <date range> what may be the best targeting parameter to choose

Choose the "Check-in" targeting parameter. Use the "Between" function and set the date range. Once this is set you can now choose a Multiplier (%) or Boost ($) to enhance this targeting which will then increase your bid strength
