Denied or Changed Overdraft Application

cancellation – reduction – adjustment – rejection

Updated this week

Why was my overdraft application denied?

There are various reasons why an overdraft application may be declined – for example:

  • your current credit score (SCHUFA)

  • a short account history with Kontist

  • your previous payment behavior

Using your Kontist account as your main business account and receiving regular incoming payments can improve your chances of approval.

You can reapply after three months.

Why was my existing overdraft reduced or cancelled?

Our partner bank Solaris SE regularly reviews all existing overdraft agreements.
This may result in a reduction or cancellation of your current overdraft. If that happens, you'll be notified in advance via email.

Good to know:
A reduction or cancellation is not always final.
If your creditworthiness or account usage improves, you can reapply for an increase at a later time.

What happens if my account is overdrawn when the overdraft is cancelled?

If your account is overdrawn at the time of cancellation, you’ll have 14 days to settle the outstanding amount in full.
If the amount is not paid on time, Solaris SE will initiate a debt collection process.
