How verification works at Kontist
To open an account with Kontist, an identity verification is legally required.
This is done via VideoIdent through IDnow, a service provider of Solaris SE, our partner bank. During the verification, you'll be asked to present a valid ID document (passport or national ID card) via camera.
Verification is available daily, Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).
When does the identity verification start?
As soon as you've entered your data and started the account opening process, you'll be automatically redirected to the identity verification.
No installation required – the verification works directly in your browser or the Kontist app.
How does the identification work?
The identity check uses the VideoIdent process. You’ll be connected via video with an IDnow agent, who compares your details with your ID document.

What you need for verification:
A stable internet connection
A device with camera and microphone
Quiet surroundings and good lighting – this helps with the ID check
Step-by-step – here’s how it works:
You’ll be automatically redirected to IDnow – either in the app or in your browser
An IDnow agent greets you via video and explains the process
You’ll be asked to hold your ID up to the camera (front and back)
Your ID will be checked and you’ll answer a few confirmation questions
After successful verification, you’ll be redirected back to Kontist
Duration: Usually completed within 3–5 minutes
