How long will it take to find a nanny?

For Families > Nanny Service > Finding you a Great Nanny

Updated over a week ago

This help centre article has been written for the Koru Kids nanny service

We hate to say it but… it depends.

Once you’ve registered with Koru Kids, you can instantly browse all the nannies in your area who meet your requirements. You can shortlist your favourite profiles and message nannies about working with your family.

While we’re constantly recruiting new nannies to meet demand, it’s important to note that the more specific your requirements, the narrower your pool of potential nannies will be so it might be worth reconsidering your main priorities. You can read more about maximising your chances of finding the right fit in this article.

Once you start messaging nannies, you'll be able to discuss specifics of the role as well as meet them for an interview. You may also want to arrange a few paid trial shifts before offering them a role.

This whole process can take less than a week if both sides move quickly. In fact, it can happen even quicker than this but sometimes it does take longer to find the perfect nanny.

On average, families often have 5–6 interviews and 2–3 trials with different nannies before finding the right fit. It’s a normal part of the process, so don’t worry if it takes a little time!

Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee we’ll have a nanny for you. The number of nannies available to you depends upon your area, the time of year you sign up, and the complexity of your requirements.

If we don’t have anyone suitable available when you sign up, we’ll be sure to contact you as soon as a new nanny who matches your requirements becomes available. We’re constantly recruiting nannies, and have new nannies completing training every single day.

If you’d like to discuss anything with our team then please don’t hesitate to email care@korukids.co.uk or click the live chat message button to chat with the team.
