How the employment contract works

As the legal employer of your nanny, the contract exists between you and your nanny. Koru Kids will handle the contract creation process for you, making it as simple as possible.

The contract process

  1. We'll ask you to complete a short 'Contract Setup' form to help us create the right contract for you and your nanny.

  2. Once we receive your completed form, we'll start drafting your contract right away.

  3. We'll send you a 'draft' version to review shortly after your nanny has accepted the job offer.

  4. After you approve the draft, we'll send the contract to both you and your nanny for e-signing via a secure signature portal.

Making changes to your contract

If you wish to make any changes to the draft contract, simply reply to the contract email with your requested amendments. Our contracts team will update the document on your behalf.

It's important to ensure there is a written record of your nanny agreeing to any amended terms once the contract has been signed.

Key contract features

  1. No 'minimum hours' requirement within the first 2 weeks of your contract, allowing for a flexible settling-in period.

  2. The contract includes notice periods. Our standard contracts recommend:

  • A two-week probation period with a 24-hour notice period

  • A two-week notice period after probation

  • These periods can be amended upon agreement between you and your nanny
