This article has been written for the Koru Kids Nanny Service for nannies who are thinking about applying.

We are not currently able to support ad hoc hours or occasional babysitting.

Most families will be looking for their nanny to commit to a regular term-time schedule and you will need to be available on the same days and times each week. More details about typical hours can be found here.

In turn, we'll support you with a contracted number of minimum hours per week during term-time which the family who employs you must commit to offering you.

The most common minimum hours agreement is for 9 hours per week, although this can be reduced according to family needs or your availability. If the family are unable to offer all your contracted minimum hours across the month, they'll top-up your pay to meet the threshold.

Important exceptions to this are when you are not available due to leave for any reason - sick leave, study leave or unpaid leave. We also waive minimum hours during school holidays and bank holidays.
