The Card Reader shows "Joining Netwk..." then "Cant Join!" when booting.
This means that the Card Reader is unable to communicate with the wireless Zigbee network being established by the Value Add Center (VAC) Kiosk reporting as VAC01 to the LaundroPortal.
NOTE: This error message is related to the Laundroworks wireless network ONLY. This has nothing to do with the laundry machine, or any WiFi network in the location.
When this error is present, there are a few different reason as to what is causing the Card Reader to be unable to join the VAC's wireless network:
VAC01 is not powered ON
The VAC will immediately establish it's Zigbee network once it's completed it's bootup sequence. Even if the VAC kiosk is NOT connected to the internet, it will still establish a Zigbee network that Card Readers can connect to.
If the VAC is powered ON, confirm that the VAC is reporting as VAC01, and not some other number. Only VAC's that are reporting as VAC01 will attempt to establish a Zigbee network for the store.
The Card Reader may have been activated using an Activation Card for a completely different store location.
When a Card Reader is booting up, it will display the 7-digit Location ID that it's been activated to:
Check to confirm that the Card Reader's reported Location ID is the same as the Location ID the VAC is activated to.
Note that the Card Reader will only display it's Location ID during boot up, but it is possible to be activated to the correct Location ID, but incorrect Support ID.
If there's any doubt that the Card Reader may have been activated with a different store's Activation Card, you should Factory Reset the Card Reader, and then re-activate it with the correct Activation Card for this location.Check the LaundroPortal to see if there's a WNC Error on the VAC's Status.
If a WNC error is present, the VAC will be unable to establish it's wireless Zigbee network, so that error should be corrected first before trying to get Card Readers to join the VAC01 network.
The Card Reader may be trying to join the incorrect Zigbee network.
When the Card Reader is booting up from being powered OFF, on the Wireless Test screen, it will display the NetID that the Card Reader is trying to join:On VACs equipped with a touch screen, place a Management Card into the VAC's card holder, and navigate to the System Status screen.
On this screen, the VAC will display the NetID of the network it's establishing:If the VAC's Wireless Network ID does not match the NetID that the Card Reader is attempting to join, then the Card Reader is attempting to join some other Zigbee network.
In most cases, this means there is another Card Reader that's broadcasting this NetID. If you have multiple Card Readers that are unable to join the VAC's network, deactivate all Card Readers with this issue (by factory resetting them), and then activate the Card Readers 1 at a time to ensure they're attempting to join the Wireless Network ID being established by the VAC kiosk.
