Installation Steps
Step 0: Number the machines in the location
Before proceeding, it is recommended that you assign numbers and labels to each machines in the laundry room/building.
Step 1: Turn Machine Power OFF
It is always recommended to power the machine off before install the card readers.
Step 2: Number the reader using the DIP switches
Review our: Reader DIP Switch settings article for details on how to set the Card Reader's Machine Type, and Reader Number.
You need to do this BEFORE mounting the Card Readers onto the machines, as accessing the back of the card reader is required.
Step 3: Remove Coin-Drop (Card-Only)
For card-only installs, open the service door, pull-out the control board and coin drop assembly, detach the coin drop connector and and remove the coin drop
Step 4: Reader Signal Wire Connection
Connect the Card Reader's 4-wire connector to H7 header on the machine's control board:
Step 5: Card Reader Power Wire Connection
Connect the 2-wire connector the 24Vac power supply connector coming off the 24Vac transformer on the machine
Step 6: Activate the Card Reader
Proceed to secure the reader to the machine and then Activate the card reader using the Activation Card for this specific location:
Note: you MUST use the Activation Card for THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION,
or else the card reader will not appear on the LaundroPortal for this location.
This will activate the reader and programs it with the location's specific Support and Location IDs.
The Card Reader will then automatically connect to VAC01's wireless network and once connected, will be visible on the LaundroPortal where you can configure it's vend prices
Step 7: Configure the Machine to Start from 1 Pulse
Set the Start Pulse mode on the dryer/washer control.
On a tumble dryer, find setting "65" and set it to either:
"128" (for a single pulse start)
"192" (for multi-pulse start which allows small increments of time every time you tap the card):
On small-chassis Washers/Dryers, find setting "60" and set it to either:
"128" (for a single pulse start)
"192" (for multi-pulse start on dryers which allows small increments of time every time you tap the card):
Setting Vend Prices
Configure the vend price via the LaundroPortal.
The reader sends one pulse to the machine's control board to trigger it to start.
