Le Galeriste's Usual Cycle |
To help you build your own agenda, we have put a timeframe to guide you through the steps of new art and products until it is delivered to you or your client.
It all starts with a Design Request. We usually manage them pretty fast in 1 business day. Therefore, for each design request you need, you will need to add a day to your calendar.
Need to ask for Touchups?Count 1 business day too. Therefore, for each touchup request you need, you will need to add a day to your calendar (a request can include multiple designs to modify).
Ready to publish on your Storefront?Do it as soon as you want, you decide when to publish your Collections!
Ready to order? To order some products or samples for yourself, you can place your order as soon as all the products you want are to your liking. + 15-20 business days of production Want to gather some orders from fans, friends or family?Take the time you need according to the schedule you have for yourself! + the timeframe you decide for them to place their order When ready to order, + 15-20 business days of production
Now the tricky part! Shipping times.
In general, the closest you live to our office in Montreal, the fastest shipping will be.
When you move from East to West, add at least another day of shipping the further you are. British Columbia will have to count ~6 business days of shipping just to be sure.
The same applies to the USA, from East to West add at least another day of shipping the further you are. But, you need to take into account the border and duties that may take extra time.
You always have the option at checkout to choose faster shipping deliveries & guarantees.

So what would an artist’s calendar look like? |
Start with the end in mind: the day you want it at your door, in your hands.
For example, I’m an artist from California who wants to place a wholesale order. I want to receive it before Black Friday to sell at an event that weekend.
November 15th; Package arrives! My due date Nov. 3rd to Nov. 15th; Shipping times would be 8 business days (6 days to get to California + let's say 2 days at border just to be safe) Nov. 2nd; My package is shipped from Le Galeriste
October 5th to Nov. 1st; Production times of 15-20 business days
October 5th; My order is placed
October 4th; I receive my touchups
October 3rd; I send my touchups
October 3rd; I received my new designs (note that we could gain 1 day by making the touchups request as soon as the designs are received)
October 2nd; I send my new request to add new designs
Voilà! This indicates that I should start my process of new collection, new products, on October 2nd at the latest in order to have them at my door on Nov. 15th.

Deadlines |
Black Friday, USA Thanksgiving: November 24th
If you want to receive a Wholesale order before, you will need to place your order before October 26th. Remember that if you live far from Montreal, better have placed your order the week before to manage longer shipping times.
For your customers on your Storefront who want to order to receive before Black Friday, they should order by November 9th.
Christmas, Holidays: December 25th
If you want to receive a Wholesale order before, you will need to place your order before November 23rd. Remember that if you live far from Montreal, better have placed your order the week before to manage more shipping time.
For your customers on your Storefront (if applicable) who want to order to receive before Christmas, they should order by December 7th.
Why are Wholesale dates and Retail (Storefront) ones different?
It’s only because retail orders generally contain 1 or 2 items which are easily completed and sent to Quality Control with less chances of having defects than larger wholesale orders containing multiple products. It's given us the opportunity to offer 2 shipping weeks window faster than Wholesale order for you to have access to more opportunities and be competitive in the retail market.
