This article explains what audit logs are and how to use them.

What Are Audit Logs?

Audit logs help you track and review user activity in the product.

When an IT Admin creates an audit log, you can view a timeline of user sign-ins and actions.

There are two types of logs:

  • Authentication logs: Records of authentication actions like logging in or setting a password.

  • Activity logs: Records of actions like creating, editing, or deleting items.

You can download audit logs as a CSV file for audits or further analysis.

What’s Included in Audit Logs

Audit Logs include both Sign-in Logs and Activity Logs.

You can view these logs in the CSV file generated by following the steps in How to Create and Download Audit Logs

Authentication Logs

In authentication logs, you can review the following activity in LegalOn:

  • Log in with email and password (*)

  • Log in with SSO (single sign-on)

  • Log out

  • Password reset request

  • Password reset

  • New user sign-up

* Sign-ins using MFA (multi-factor authentication) are not included.

Activity Logs

Activity logs include actions across different areas of the product.

Actions not listed below are not included in the export.
