Uploading rosters for Assesslets using the CSV option.

The first step in using the Lennections platform is to make sure all necessary teachers, classes and students in the platform.

Clients have 3 options for Rostering.

  1. ClassLink - Providing secure transfer of data from your student information system to our platform with nightly updates.

  2. Clever - Providing secure transfer of data from your student information system to our platform with nightly updates. *For clients who do not currently use ClassLink.

  3. CSV File - This option does not offer automatic updates. School admins will need to add or remove students when needed.

At this time you have shared with us that you will be using the CSV File Upload option. If you have a different preference for Rostering, please let us know right away and we can send you the appropriate directions.

CSV Rostering Directions

The CSV Rostering feature will be turned on for the designated School Admin.

1. Click on School from the left menu.

2. Click on the CSV Imports button.

3. In the right panel, click on the Teacher/Admin CSV Sample button. This will provide a template to use for the Teacher/Admin CSV file.

4. In the right panel, click on the Student CSV Sample button. This will provide a template to use for the Student CSV file.

5. Click on the Add CSV Import button to attach both files.

Note: Upload both files at the same time in order for validation to verify that the students have a valid teacher.

  • After uploading both files, click on the "Validate" button. This process will verify that the teacher and student data contain all required values and that each student has a matching teacher. You might see some warnings during this step. You can review these warnings but in general these will not be an issue. An example of a warning could be that there are teachers in the teacher file that have no assigned students in the student file. This is fine and will not interfere with the rostering process. If once you submit the files, there's an issue with the data, we'll review the files and contact you.

  • If there are no errors in validation, a "Submit for Import Review" button will appear. Clicking that will inform us that your roster data is ready to be imported.
