What do I get with my Canva Business subscription on Leonardo?
If you don’t already have a paid Leonardo subscription, your Canva Business subscription gives you Apprentice access at no extra cost.
You’ll automatically receive all standard Apprentice features and token allocations once you log in to Leonardo with your Canva Business account — no separate checkout required.
Do Canva Business team members each get their own Leonardo Apprentice account?
Yes. Each Canva Business team member receives individual access to Leonardo AI Apprentice. This means:
Each user has their own Leonardo account, workspace, templates, and token allocation.
Credits/tokens are not pooled or shared across the team; each user’s usage is tracked separately
Are there any shared or pooled resources for Leonardo access via Canva Business?
No. Access to Leonardo through Canva Business is provided on an individual basis. There is no shared team pool or common-use resource for credits or tokens.
What token limits or models apply to Canva Business users on Leonardo?
Each Canva Business user receives the standard Apprentice tier limits and models, as defined by Leonardo. Token allocations and feature access are per user, not per team.
How do I access Leonardo with my Canva Business subscription?
Go to the Leonardo login page.
Click “Log in with Canva.”
If your Canva Business subscription is active and you don’t have a paid Leonardo plan, you’ll automatically get Apprentice access.
Am I eligible for the Canva Business entitlement if I already have a paid Leonardo subscription?
No. The Canva Business entitlement applies only if you don’t already have a paid Leonardo plan (Apprentice, Artisan, or Maestro).
To use the Canva-provided entitlement, you must first cancel your paid Leonardo plan.
Once your paid plan ends and your Canva Business subscription is still active, you’ll automatically receive Apprentice access.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or manage my Leonardo plan through Canva?
No. Canva-managed Leonardo accounts cannot be upgraded or downgraded within Leonardo or Canva.
Currently, only the Apprentice tier is available through Canva Business.
If you want higher tiers (Artisan or Maestro), you’ll need to purchase them directly from Leonardo when available.
Why is the Buy/Upgrade page locked for me?
The Buy/Upgrade page is locked for Canva Business users because your Leonardo access is managed through Canva.
Upgrades to higher tiers within Leonardo will be available once this feature is supported.
🔄 Changes to Subscriptions
What happens if I cancel my Canva Business subscription?
Your Leonardo account will immediately revert to the Free tier.
You’ll lose Apprentice features and tokens.
Unused tokens are removed.
Your existing creations remain viewable, but editing will be limited by Free plan restrictions.
Can I get higher tiers (Artisan or Maestro) through Canva?
Only Apprentice access is available through Canva Business.
For higher tiers, you’ll need to purchase a plan directly from Leonardo.
I’m a Canva Free user—how can I get Leonardo Apprentice access?
You have two options:
Buy a Leonardo plan directly (Apprentice, Artisan, or Maestro) on the Leonardo website.
Upgrade your Canva account to Canva Business.
Once active, log in to Leonardo with Canva to get Apprentice access at no extra cost.
What happens if I have both a paid Leonardo plan and Canva Business?
Your paid Leonardo plan takes priority.
The Canva Business entitlement only applies if you don’t have a paid Leonardo plan.
To switch to the Canva-provided plan, cancel your Leonardo subscription first.
What happens if my Canva Business payment fails or lapses?
If your Canva Business subscription lapses, your Leonardo account reverts to the Free tier immediately.
You’ll lose Apprentice features and tokens.
Please check Canva’s Terms of Use or contact Canva Support for help with billing or grace periods.
⚙️ Eligibility & Access Issues
Are there any users who can’t claim this benefit?
Yes.
Users whose Canva accounts are registered with a phone number only (no email) are not eligible.
You need a valid email address linked to your Canva account.
What happens if I re-subscribe to Canva Business after cancelling?
You can regain Apprentice access automatically—just log in to Leonardo with your Canva account (as long as you don’t have a paid Leonardo plan).
What happens to my creations if I lose Apprentice access?
Your existing creations remain viewable and downloadable.
However, editing or creating new content will be limited by Free plan restrictions.
