As your Library evolves, you'll need to update tags—adding new ones, removing outdated ones, or reorganizing how Assets are categorized.

Admins and Content Managers can edit tags in the Library.

Editing tags on a single Asset

  1. Select the Asset (in the Library or within a Kit)

  2. In the inspector panel, find the Tags section

  3. To add: Click the tag field, type a name, and select or create the tag

  4. To remove: Click the X next to any existing tag

Pro tip: You can also add tags by typing your tag into the action menu.

Bulk editing tags

When you need to update tags on multiple Assets at once:

  1. Select the Assets you want to update

    • Hold Shift and click to select a continuous range

    • Hold Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) and click to select individual Assets

  2. In the inspector panel, the Tags section shows

    • Tags common to all selected Assets

    • Tags that are only on some Assets

  3. You can

    • remove a tag from all of the assets

    • Add a partial tag to all of the assets

Tag suggestions

As you type, Lingo suggests existing tags that match. Using existing tags keeps your tagging consistent and makes filtering more effective.

Automated Tagging

Behind the scenes Lingo automatically uses AI to analyze and tag your assets based on their content. This helps you get started with tagging and makes it easier to find assets later. These tags are not visible but will surface results when searching.

Tag best practices

  • Be consistent: Decide on tag naming conventions with your team (e.g., lowercase, no spaces)

  • Keep it simple: Use clear, obvious terms that everyone will understand

  • Don't over-tag: A handful of relevant tags is better than dozens of vague ones

  • Review regularly: Periodically clean up unused or redundant tags
