Pinning a Message or Alert allows you to easily refer back to it at a later point in time, without crowding up your Inbox or Alerts tabs. An entire Message thread or Alert can be pinned, as well as any response within a thread.

Pinned Messages and Alerts can be found in the Inbox under the Pinned tab, and also under the Message tab of an Account or Contact.
