Newest Additions to ListDefender – July 2025 Updates

New green-tag controls, safelists for trusted contacts, and better handling for flagged emails – take full control of your list cleaning!

Updated over 3 months ago

We’ve added powerful new features to give you more control and flexibility with how ListDefender validates and manages your contacts.

1. Override Contacts Tagged as Red

Sometimes ListDefender tags a known contact as red for various reasons. You can now override that tag and control how long the contact remains green.

Choose from the new dropdown options:

  • Forever – Keep the contact green indefinitely.

  • Set Custom Date – Pick a specific date for the override to expire.

  • Until Next Validation Scan – Keep the contact green until the next validation scan runs.

  • Until Next Engagement Scan – Keep the contact green until the next engagement scan runs.

2. Flagging Non-Vulgar Emails

Sometimes unique last names or business-related words in email addresses can mistakenly trigger the vulgar or suspicious filter.

Now, you can manually flag an email as “Not Vulgar” so that legitimate contacts aren’t incorrectly marked red.

3. Allow Lists (Safelists)

The new Allow List feature ensures trusted domains, names, and email addresses will never be marked red during validation checks.

Here’s how it works:

✅ Domain Allow List

  • Add entire domains to bypass quality checks that would normally mark them red.

  • Use wildcards (e.g., *.company.com) to include all subdomains.

  • Example: If you block disposable email providers but want to allow mailinator.com, adding it here keeps those emails from being marked red.

✅ Name/Email Allow List

  • Safelist specific email addresses or name patterns so they won’t be flagged as vulgar or suspicious.

  • Example: A contact like spamaster@mypoolandspas.com may get flagged for containing the word “spam.” Adding it to your Allow List prevents this.

Important Notes:

  • Mark Green Until overrides future scan tagging for the selected duration (Forever, Custom Date, Next Validation Scan, or Next Engagement Scan). Contacts that have this enabled will be marked green for the selected duration, regardless of a scan's outcome.

  • The Domain Allow List applies to the Disposable, Free, and Catch-all validation checks. Domains added here will not be marked red if they fail one of these checks.

  • The Name/Email Allow List applies to the Vulgar and Suspicious validation checks. Names or emails containing terms added here will not be marked red if they fail one of these checks.

  • You can add contacts directly to your Allow List from the individual contact pages where a contact was previously marked red due to failing one of the pertinent checks.
