Verified Brokers — what it means

Every broker posting loads on Load Work has a rating based on various factors including their FMCSA status and responsiveness to carriers after posting loads. This is one of the biggest reasons carriers choose us over generic load boards.

What verification covers

We confirm each broker:

  • Has an active MC (Motor Carrier Broker) authority with the FMCSA

  • Carries the required broker bond (BMC-84 or equivalent)

  • Is in good standing — no recent fraud reports or revoked authority

  • Provides current contact information that can be re-verified

We re-check verification status regularly and pull any broker who falls out of compliance.

What this means for you as a carrier

  • No ghost loads — every load posted has a real broker behind it.

  • Lower fraud risk — phishing brokers and freight scams are far less common on Load Network.

  • Faster trust — you can pick up the phone without having to run an MC check yourself for every new broker.

You should still…

Verification gets you most of the way, but it's smart practice to:

  1. Confirm the rate confirmation matches what you negotiated verbally.

  2. Run a quick credit/days-to-pay check on brokers you haven't worked with before (most factoring companies will do this for free).

  3. Send your certificate of insurance only after you have a signed rate con in hand.

  4. Save every email and rate con — paper trails matter if you ever have a dispute.

What if I think a broker is acting badly?

Tell us. We take broker conduct seriously. Use the in-app "Report Broker" button on any load, or contact support directly. If a broker on Load Work isn't holding up their end, we want to know.
