To start a new application, click new in the right of the top menu ribbon:

A popup will appear which asks a few questions to ensure your application fits the Athena policy. Once you are through the eligibility check, you can complete the loan application itself.

The initial section to complete is the Setup section, where you add the defining elements of your application such as Loan title, amount, settlement date.

Next you set the participants to the application, which will at a minimum be you, the broker; and your applicants:

"Participants' are anyone who is a party to the application. Participation includes being able to access and work on the application (eg have visibility and access via Tama); or to be able to receive and work on info requests. A key extra participant you might want to include is any admin staff on your team. Note that if they are not available in the Participant dropdown, it means they still need to be setup as a user in your organisation.

Once you have completed the application setup, you can now complete the application data. Note that while you are working on your Loanapp application, you can navigate to sections via the side menu, or by clicking on the navigator buttons before and after each section:

Each section of the application has sub-sections that can be expanded or collapsed by clicking on the sub-section heading:

Some sections may have popup windows to capture a new sub-collection of data. These sub-sections are represented by three dots in a field:

And when clicked, a modal will popup and you can add the sub-section data:

Validation logic will appear on screen where you have not completed required data; or where the data is not the correct format:

Work through the Loanapp data sections to complete the application. Note a couple of things:

  1. there is no SAVE button. Loanapp automatically saves.

  2. once you have completed the initial setup, you can navigate anywhere in the application at any time by using the side menu.

When you have completed the Applicant and Financial Position sections, you will get to the Loan and Serviceability section.

Digital Services.

Athena has incorporated a number of digital services in their Loanapp workflow to make things easier for you and your applicants, and to speed up assessment and approvals. The digital services are:

Digital Consent.

The first of the digital workflows is a 'digital consent' that is sent to your applicant/s via email.

The Loanapp digital services cannot be triggered or completed until your applicant/s have completed this consent. For more information on the consent workflow, click here.

Digital VOI.

Once you have the applicant/s digital consent, Loanapp will send an SMS invite to your applicant/s to complete their digital VOI check - a convenient, 2 minute workflow to complete their VOI. They will need copies of their ID documents with them to complete the check. If they lose their invite, you can re-issue it from the loanapp interface.

For more information on the Loanapp VOI workflow, click here.

Product selection & Serviceability

When you have completed the Applicant and Financial Position sections, you will get to the Loan and Serviceability section.

First add detail of your loan requirements, including amount, purpose, repayment type and features:

If the application is for a purchase, you can also add purchase details in this section. (This section can be skipped where the application is a refinance).

Loanapp will then calculate and present to you the Serviceability outcomes. It will also present to you available products that you can toggle and select for this application:

Once you are satisfied that your application passes serviceability, proceed to the Compliance section, which includes questions about your Applicant Interview, Applicant Retirement plans, preferences; and your Application Comments. You can expand each section to complete:

Next you will proceed to Summary and Submit - where you can check over your submission data and easily click back into any section of the application you wish to edit:

At the end of the summary section is the final submit section, where you can click "Proceed":

Note that Proceed will do two things:

  • submit your application data into the first layer of Athena Assessment, OMNI

  • allow you to finalise the supporting documents for your submission and submit to Athena

When you have clicked Proceed, you will be presented with the successful submit screen:

Your next step is to finalise your supporting documents, and to complete a couple of Action Items in OMNI.
