What is Malware?

Malware represents a significant danger to the safety of your devices, primarily computers and laptops. "Malware" includes viruses, spyware, ransomware, and other malicious software that can infect your computer without your knowledge.

When malware infects your device, it opens the door for cybercriminals to steal your confidential data, flood you with unwanted ads, lock your files for ransom, and expose you to additional security threats.

Consider this:

60% of small enterprises shut down following a cyber assault. The typical cost for small to medium businesses facing a data breach? A staggering $3 million. Moreover, ransomware attacks have doubled from the previous year since 2021, occurring at an alarming rate of 20 every second.

Device Security: Lockwell's Anti-Malware

As soon as you login to Lockwell on your computer, our next-gen Anti-Malware starts protecting your device from ransomware, viruses, and other malware by monitoring for and neutralizing threats.

Anti-Malware for your mobile devices is coming shortly!

Lockwell's Anti-Malware runs automatically in the background to keep your device safe. If malware is detected on your machine or you accidentally download a malicious file, Lockwell immediately quarantines the threat and alerts you and your company's admins.

In the Devices menu you can also click on "Run deep scan" to manually run a scan on any of your selected devices. Manually scanning for malware can only be done on your device from the Desktop App. You cannot scan for malware on devices from the Admin Dashboard (Web App).

What to do if Malware is found on your device.

Lockwell makes it easy to detect and remove malware found on your device with just one click.

After running a scan, if Lockwell has found malware you will be notified and informed of the details on your dashboard and receive a desktop notification.

Click the notification or issue to view the name of the Malicious file, description, and Lockwell's recommendation to Delete malware, resolving the issue.

Click Delete Malware to remediate your computer and that's it!
