How to create and set up your Log Ninja account

After you create your Log Ninja account and log in for the first time, the app will guide you through four onboarding steps. These steps must be completed before you can start using the app.

Step 1: Your details

Enter your personal details, including:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Phone number

  • Date of birth

Review the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement, then tick the checkboxes to confirm you agree. Tap Create an account.

When selecting your date of birth, tap the year at the top of the calendar to move through the years faster.


Step 2: Licence details

Enter your driver licence details.

What to enter

Licence number

Enter your licence number in the format AB111111.

Licence version number

Enter the 3-digit version number from your driver licence. This changes each time your physical licence is updated by NZTA.

Licence expiry date

Enter the expiry date for your licence class.

Next, select the licence classes you hold, as shown on your licence.

For each licence class, select the correct status, such as Full, Restricted, or Learner.

If you hold any endorsements, select each endorsement and enter the expiry date from the calendar.

Your licence version number changes when your physical licence is updated by NZTA.


Step 3: Types of vehicles

Select the types of vehicles you may drive while logging hours in Log Ninja.

Examples include:

  • Taxi

  • Airport shuttle

  • Body box

  • Container

  • Curtainsider

The vehicle types you select help record your driving experience across different vehicle types. Tap Save Changes.


Step 4: PIN setup

Create a 4-digit PIN for quick login.

Enter your PIN in the PIN field, then enter it again in the Confirm PIN field. Tap Set PIN to finish onboarding.


Email verification

After signing up, you will receive a verification email.

Open the email and click Confirm my account.

Return to the Log Ninja app to start using your digital logbook.
