The app does not send push notifications
The Log Ninja driver app does not push notifications to your phone. It will not buzz your phone or show an alert on your lock screen when the app is closed. To see where your work and rest hours are sitting, you need to open the app.
How to check your hours
Open the app and go to the main dashboard. The dashboard shows:
Your current status, either work time or rest time.
Whether you are ready to work, labelled "Until end of rest".
Your cumulative work period as a running total against the 70 hour limit, for example 00:00 / 70:00.
Your cumulative work day as a running total against the daily limit.
The date and time of your last 24 hour break, where that information is available.
Countdown timers show how much time you have left against the key limits.
Warnings inside the app
When you are approaching or have breached a limit, the app shows a visual warning banner. These are on-screen notifications, not push notifications, so you need to have the app open to see them.
Break reminders
The app shows a break reminder state when a mandatory rest break is due. This appears inside the app when you have the app open, not as a push notification.
What the app does not do
The following are not part of the driver app:
Push notifications when the app is closed.
SMS or email alerts to you as the driver.
GPS or automatic location tracking. Locations are typed in by you when you create a log.
Automatic prompting to log an event. The app does not know you are working unless you tell it, and compliance depends on you making the entries.
Operator alerts. Operators can see your live status in their portal, but the portal does not push notifications to them either.
Note: Because the app does not prompt you, keeping your logs up to date is your responsibility.
Working offline
The app works without a connection. Logs are stored locally on your device and sync automatically when you reconnect.
