Quick answer
SKU and barcode are related, but they are not always the same value. The SKU identifies the product or variant. The barcode or UPC is the value your scanner reads from the item, box, or label. Logentic needs the values your warehouse will scan.
Where do I scan?
For receiving, inventory counts, picking, and packing, scan in Logentic unless your team has a confirmed account-specific exception. Shopify remains important for product and order setup, but warehouse scan validation happens in Logentic.
What Logentic needs
The Shopify product or variant.
The SKU used to identify the sellable item.
The barcode, UPC, or scan value printed on the item or box.
Any case, bundle, or box barcode that operators will scan.
The expected relationship between those values.
If the SKU and barcode do not match
That can be normal if the barcode is only a scan value, but it must map to the correct Logentic product. If a scanned value opens the wrong product, stop using it operationally until the mapping is reviewed.
Does this block go-live?
A SKU or barcode cleanup issue does not automatically block the ecommerce site from going live. It can block or weaken warehouse confidence if it affects scan validation, inventory count, picking, packing, or Shopify inventory updates. Confirm the workaround before live fulfillment depends on it.
