When you log a ride, you are asked for the trip purpose, e.g. from A to B, to/from work, for fun/fitness etc. Here's how to change your trip purpose after you've logged your ride.

On the Love to Ride site

  1. Head to your Profile Page

Go to your Profile Page by clicking on your name in the top right.

2. Find your rides

Scroll down until you see the 'Rides' section on the right-hand side that looks like the image below.👇 (This is not the same as the activity feed - keep scrolling!)

3. Click on the pencil icon next to the ride you want to edit

4. Click the arrow on the right to open a drop-down menu, select your new trip purpose, and click 'Save'

Watch a demo here 👇

Note: It is currently only possible to edit the trip purpose. If you want to edit the distance or date, you will need to delete the ride and log it again with the correct details.

Via the Love to Ride app

There are two ways to change trip purpose.

Edit purpose on the Rides list

  • You can long-press on a ride to open the purpose menu.

Edit purpose on ride details page:

  1. Find and open your ride

  2. Long-press on the current trip purpose in the lower left corner

  3. Choose your new trip purpose!

The app remembers your trip purpose

📱The app will remember your last ride purpose and automatically apply this to future rides. This will remain your default ride type until you change your trip purpose again!

If your ride is less than 6 miles your ride purpose will default to ‘transport to or from work’ when it it occurs between:

  • 7:30-9:30am, Monday to Friday

  • 4:30-6:30pm, Monday to Friday

Rides less than 3 miles will default to ‘transport to or from other destination’ anytime on the weekend and at these times:

  • 9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday

  • 6:30pm and 7:30am, Monday-Friday

This is the same if you are syncing your rides from Strava. You can also use the ‘commute’ tag on Strava, which will be picked up as ‘ride to/from work’ on your Love to Ride profile.

Note: If you update your Strava ride with the ‘Commute’ tag after saving it, this will not come across as ‘to/from work’ and will need to be edited manually on Love to Ride.
