You can connect your account using the Love to Ride website:

  1. Log in to Love to Ride

  2. Go to your Profile

  3. Open the Add a Ride tab

  4. Choose Strava, Garmin, or MapMyRide

  5. Follow the prompts to give permission

Once connected, rides recorded in your chosen app will sync automatically.

Using Strava with Love to Ride

If you track rides with Strava, connecting it allows your rides to sync automatically. During a challenge, this means you'll get entered into prize drawings automatically - how great is that?! 😃

What to expect

  • Rides sync after you save them in Strava

  • Rides usually appear on Love to Ride within 24 hours.

Bonus tip šŸ’”

If you tag your ride as ā€œCommuteā€ in Strava before saving, it will automatically show as ā€œTransport to or from workā€ on Love to Ride.

ā° Rides that are less than 6 miles long will default to ā€˜transport to or from work’ when they occur between:

  • 7:30-9:30am, Monday to Friday

  • 4:30-6:30pm, Monday to Friday

ā° Rides less than 3 miles will default to ā€˜transport to or from other destination’ when they occur between:

  • 9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday

  • 6:30pm and 7:30am, Monday-Friday

  • Any time Saturday-Sunday

Privacy note

When you connect Strava, a link to your Strava profile will be visible next to your rides on Love to Ride. The privacy settings on your Strava account will determine what information is accessible via this link. If you would like to maintain your privacy, we suggest you familiarise yourself with Strava's privacy settings.

Using Garmin with Love to Ride

You can sync rides directly from your Garmin device to Love to Ride.

What to expect

  • Bike rides recorded on Garmin will sync automatically once connected

  • Indoor rides will sync and be labelled as Indoor Ride

  • Garmin doesn't tell us whether a ride was marked as ā€œTransportationā€, so these rides won’t automatically be categorised as transport

  • When you first connect, recent past rides may be added to your profile

Bonus tip ⭐ Rate your Garmin routes in the Love to Ride app

When you sync Garmin with Love to Ride, you can also rate your routes in the Love to Ride app.

Your ratings help highlight great routes, spot problem areas, and make cycling better for everyone who rides there. šŸš²šŸ’š

Don’t have the Love to Ride app yet? No problem, follow the links below to download the app:

Why rate your routes?

Rate My Routes powers the Biking Feedback Map which shows how safe and comfortable people feel riding bikes on the streets in their community.

The citizen science enables riders (like you) to provide feedback that can help local planning decisions and make communities better for biking. šŸ˜

Using MapMyRide with Love to Ride

If MapMyRide is your go-to, good news - you can connect it to Love to Ride and let your rides sync automatically.

What to expect

  • Rides you record in MapMyRide will sync to your Love to Ride profile

  • Most rides show up within 24 hours

  • Indoor rides are supported too

Once you’re connected, just ride as usual and we’ll take care of the rest šŸš“ā€ā™€ļø
