With LPagery, you can dynamically replace placeholder images on each generated page, allowing for unique and customized visuals. This is particularly useful when creating pages for different locations, services, or products. Although this guide uses Elementor in the example, the same steps can be applied to any page builder of your choice.

This feature is available for the LPagery Extended plan and above.

This article focuses on having unique and different images on the created pages. If you are only looking to replace the alt tags and meta data of an image on the created pages read this: Create unique image metadata on each page

Step 1: Set Up Your Template Page with a Placeholder Image

  1. Add Placeholder Image to the Media Library:

    • Upload any image to your WordPress Media Library. This image will be used by LPagery to identify which image should be replaced on the created pages. In this case I uploaded a file named "placeholder.jpg"

  2. Create a Template Page:

    • Add a placeholder image to your template page using your chosen page builder. The placeholder image placeholder.jpg will serve as a stand-in to be dynamically replaced on each generated page.

Step 2: Prepare Images for Each Page

  1. Upload Specific Images:

    • Upload the specific images you want to use for each generated page to your WordPress Media Library. For example:

      • USA.jpg for United States

      • UK.jpg for the UK

      • Spain.jpg for Spain

      • France.jpg for France

Tip: Make sure each image has a clear, descriptive filename that corresponds to its use.

You can also use external Image URLs for this instead of local uploaded ones.

Step 3: Configure Your Source File with Image Names

  1. Add Image Column in the Source File:

    • In your Google Sheet (or CSV/XLSX file), add a column with a header name that matches the file name of your placeholder image, such as placeholder.jpg.

  2. Enter Image Filenames in the Column:

    • In the rows of your source file, fill in the names of the images corresponding to each page. For example:

country

placeholder.jpg

USA

USA.jpg

UK

UK.jpg

Spain

Spain.jpg

France

France.jpg

Step 4: Enable Image Processing in LPagery

Before we can start using the image processing, we need to enable it.

  1. Go to LPagery Settings:

    • Open the LPagery settings in WordPress and locate the Image Processing option.

  2. Turn On Image Processing:

    • Enable this option and click Save Settings to apply the changes.

Step 5: Generate Pages

  1. Select Your Template Page:

    • Go to the LPagery dashboard and select the template page where you added the placeholder image.

  2. Upload or Link Your Source File:

    • If using a Google Sheet, copy and paste the link. Otherwise, upload your CSV/XLSX file.

  3. Review the Pages to be Created:

    • Click on Next to review the pages that will be generated. You should see a preview of each page with its corresponding image that will be put into the created page instead of the placeholder image.

  4. Proceed with Page Creation:

    • Complete the process to generate pages for each location (e.g., United States, England, Spain, France).

Step 6: Confirm Changes

  1. Open the Generated Pages:

    • Open the generated pages to confirm that the images have been correctly replaced based on your source file data.
